![]() You know that feeling you get when you're walking around a museum and you can feel the beauty and the power of the artwork flow into you? Well that's what Dosh has accomplished in his music. The one man, multi-instrumentalist artist, also known as Martin Luther King Chavez Dosh, creates some of the most complex music layering I've ever heard in my life. Quite frankly, he sends shivers down my spide when I listen to his new CD, Wolves and Wishes. Just the first track alone, "Don't Wait for the Needle to Drop" puts me into a completely relaxed paralyzed state. Regardless of what I'm doing, when I play the song, I can't help but stop for at least a few seconds and just think, "Wow, the world is amazing and I feel completely at peace with myself." But just because the first track is so striking doesn't mean the rest of the album isn't also amazing. Reminding me of Mice Parade and Album Leaf albums (both also being one man bands), Wolves and Wishes is constructed so that by the time you've finished listening, you're completely relaxed and didn't even notice that time just flew by. Each track has its own unique sound, but they all flow into each other so well that by the time you reach the last two tracks, "The Magic Stick" and "Capture the Flag," you'll wish the CD never ended. I can only imagine the feeling of watching him perform live. He's on tour now, so go experience this amazing emotional musical ride.
