Born and bred in the Pacific Northwest, Matt Hickman grew up on a heavy musical diet of Heart, Hole, and 4AD before becoming a long-distance Brit Pop fanatic in the 90's. Select and NME subscriptions gave way to a brief but awkward drum & bass and trance phase, attendance at Spice World, a case of Reykjavík fever, and a period spent living in LA exclusively listening to Tears for Fears and Talk Talk. Currently, Matt’s big on Kylie— quite the evolution (or not) for a boy whose first record was Vital Idol.
